Overlooking the panorama, Long Son Pagoda has a very beautiful terrain which is convenient for visitors. The pagoda was built on a high land, airy, green trees. Despite being located next to the traffic road and crowded streets, it still retains a dark and quiet look. The rows of houses for academies, offices, and huts fit the massive temple, forming a complete structure. The pagoda is hidden under rows of tall Bodhi trees, lush branches and leaves. There are also ornamental trees around.

Initially, the pagoda was a thatched roof house located on the top of Trai Thuy hill (right at the current White Buddha position) called Dang Son Tu. In 1900, the pagoda collapsed completely after a strong storm. Therefore, the pagoda’s team decided to move the pagoda down to the foot of Trai Thuy hill like today. When moving down the hill, the Venerable Master Ngo Chi built a small temple with one and two wings. Then renamed the pagoda from Dang Son Tu to Long Son Tu.
