This is the largest ethnic market in Lao Cai Province and one of the most intriguing in the northern highlands, open every Sunday in the middle of Bac Ha municipality. Thousands of people dressed in their best traditional attire from ethnic groups such as Black Zao, Tay, Phu La, and Flower H’mong attend the market, turning it into a type of festival. The commodities sold at the market range from embroidered apparel, handicrafts, agricultural products, food… to poultry and livestock such as vegetable, spices, chile, chicken, cat, piggy, doggie…
