Today, drive along the Chinese border to Ban Gioc Waterfall to explore the untouched landscape that surrounds Cao Bang. Ban Gioc is one of the country’s greatest waterfalls, set amongst the gorgeous landscapes and overlooking the border, and you’ll have time to rest or swim in its green waters. Return to Cao Bang in the late afternoon to see more of this charming town.

Early this morning, travel for a journey north toward the Chinese border to view the historical location of President Ho Chi Minh’s home and workplace when he returned to Vietnam in the early 1940s. We stop along the road to see fascinating local marketplaces and mix with hill tribes as they trade their items. After lunch, you’ll return to Cao Bang and drive to Ba Be National Park in the afternoon. When you arrive, you will meet and get to know the Tay tribe’s family, and you will spend the night in their traditional Tay village long home.

After breakfast, take a three-boat cruise with a breathtaking view of Ba Be Lake and the surrounding mountains. Take a short hike to the Dau Dang Waterfall before visiting several Tay and Zao minority communities and eating a picnic lunch along the route.
