Our ride today will pass through Black Thai and Muong villages each with a suspension footbridge and fascinating hydraulic works. We also will stop at a local tea manufacturer which is also an interesting point. We arrive in Son La by mid afternoon. The rest of the day is spent cycling around town. (B/L/D)

The scenery from Son La to Dien Bien Phu is extremely breath-taking. We make an early start this morning to visit one or two colorful markets, which are excellent for photographing. In Dien Bien Phu we take a tour of historic town. (B/L/D)

Today’s part cycling explores the remote wilderness – the scenery is awesome. We will also visit a couple of tribal villages along the way, arriving in Tam Duong in late afternoon. (B/L/D)

We visit a colorful hill tribe market before making our way up to Sapa. Our ride today is more challenging, riding 26 km uphill to Tram Ton pass. At an altitude of 2000 m, this is the highest pass in Indochina. We will arrive in Sapa by mid afternoon for a free afternoon. (B/L)

Following breakfast we start a six-hour trek that will take us along buffalo paths and trails and through several hill tribe villages. Stopping for a picnic lunch on the way, we will return to Sapa in late afternoon. (B/L/D)
