Following the breakfast, we embark on a speed boat on the Mekong river to Ban Thaxouang, stopping along the way at the mysterious Pak Ou cave housing thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes. On arrival at Ban Thaxouang we travel by roads through the scenic mountain landscape for Hongsa.
