Start the day with a delicious buffet breakfast served by your hotel. Ranging from delicious Thai specialties to Western Fare, each dish is made with fresh and local ingredients. Then you will leave Bangkok for Damnoen Saduk floating market which is about 110km West of Bangkok. You will take a long tail boat to the edge of the Floating Market and ride in a paddleboat through the Floating Market. You’ll then walk around and observe the sale and exchange of various goods between parties in their long tail boats as has been traditionally taking place for years.
In the afternoon, return to Bangkok and you will have an immersive experience on the hands-on cooking class that is hard to find elsewhere. You’ll be guided through succulent curries, stir-fried noodles, fresh spring rolls and other dishes by a professional, local chef. At the conclusion of your instruction, sit down with your chef to enjoy your creations.

Today, stroll through the Queen Sikirit Park – known as an ideal spot for a leisure weekend amid lush of trees and beautiful landscape, visit a few of Bangkok’s many temples, learn meditation at Wat Mahathat, hike to the top of Golden Mount to see panoramic views of the city and experience occasional traditional dancing at Erawan Shrine. The traditional dancers are often seen near the shrine actually aren’t there to attract or entertain tourists. They are hired by worshipers who hope to gain merit or give thanks for prayers answered.

Additionally, you will have two options to visit: Or Tor Kor or Nang Loeng Market, which are home to stalls after stalls of colorful fruits and exotic products, and one of the best places to try traditional food such as stir-fry noodles and mango sticky rice.

In the evening, you will take part in the Bangkok Street Food Tour. Bangkok is full of many neighborhoods, each with a unique approach to cuisine. From street stalls to local eateries and fine dining restaurants, take in culture and tradition with every bite. Learn the history of various recipes, why particular ingredients are used and savor a variety of new and mouth-watering flavors.

After breakfast, you will depart on the flight to Ho Chi Minh City – Vietnam’s modern metropolis. Your local tour guide and driver will pick you up and transfer to the city centre. Vietnam’s largest city with a rich cultural heritage boasting classic French colonial architecture, incense-infused temples, ornate pagodas and sleek modern skyscrapers, this spectacular city offers so much to be discovered.

Visits to the Reunification Palace, the neo-Romanesque Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office, Chinatown with local market and either the Thien Hau Temple or the Quan Am Pagoda.

Today you will discover the secrets of Vietnamese cuisine in a hands-on cooking class in countryside setting. One of the healthiest cuisines in the world, food in Vietnam is often also used as medicine. During your cooking class held in a beautiful agricultural village, you’ll experience a Vietnamese Medicine Garden with varied herbs, spices and vegetables. After learning about the Mushroom House and what it’s like to be a Vietnamese farmer, select herbs and vegetables from the garden to prepare delicious, healthy Vietnamese dishes such as “Pho” (noodles), “Banh My” (bread) and “Nem” or “Cha Gio” (spring rolls). After your instruction, you will enjoy lunch with the chef.
Then head out to Cu Chi Tunnels, 75km far from Ho Chi Minh City. After an introductory video, viewing various mantraps, the remains of an American tank and numerous bomb craters at Ben Dinh, you will spend the next hour exploring the maze of tunnels to see how the Viet Cong survived in this underground network.

Today you will set out for the Mekong Delta, one of Vietnam’s two main rice bowls. On this journey, pass through lands comprised of low-lying rice paddies and rivers that are bordered by dense mangroves and palms. Boarding a motor boat, you’ll pass through the Mekong Delta to explore fishing villages and the four islands of Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle and Phoenix. As you cruise along Rach Xep, a small canal dotted with little village houses, glimpse the daily life of local villagers and join them for a traditional lunch. During the ride, your guide will explain the agriculture of the region and how it’s incorporated into the local Vietnamese cuisine. Spend time with a local family in the Mekong Delta, learning about their culture and lifestyle. As you sit with them to dine on delicious homemade catfish soups, noodle dishes and rice platters or other foods depending on season, you’ll come to understand the importance of food in their daily lives.
