Schedule
In the morning, you will be welcomed at the cruise’s welcoming lounge in Saigon. Relax with a second cup of coffee as the cruise team gathers your boarding details. Leave the hustle and bustle of Saigon behind and fly 70 kilometers south overland to My Tho to board The Jahan. After settling into your spacious floating “house” for the next few days, your first instinct might be to walk into your balcony and watch the ship set sail on its exciting Mekong River journey.
Allow your soul to drift and your eyes to wonder while the boat travels upstream. Since “nautical air” is said to make you hungry, you are cordially invited to afternoon tea in the open-air bar as dusk bathes the Mekong Delta in a golden haze. When eating those delicious snacks, get to know your fellow travelers. The remainder of this cruising day is entirely yours to spend relaxing on your own balcony or being pampered by the Apsara Spa’s therapists.
The ship arrives in Cai Be as you are enjoying your delicious meal. The Nguyen dynasty, Vietnam’s last ruling house, founded this historic town on the Mekong River, where three provinces meet: Tien Giang, Vinh Long, and Ben Tre, in the nineteenth century. Cai Be will later become the dominant water-based trading center in the local area, as you can see in tomorrow’s visit to the floating market. Anchor in the middle of the river near Cai Be and moor for the night. If you’re looking for some evening entertainment, there’s a cinema in the lounge that shows classic movies and fascinating documentaries every night.
