Cu Lao Cham
Cu Lao Cham is a cluster of islands in Tan Hiep island commune, Hoi An city, Quang Nam province. It is located about 15 km from Cua Dai beach. Though Cu Lao Cham Island is located in a famous tourist area including Da Nang – Hoi An – Cua Dai – My Son Sanctuary, but it still possesses many wild features. It was recognized by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve in 2009 and it is an interesting tourist destination for groups of friends or couples.
Visitors to Cu Lao Cham can experience poetic moments, floating on the river. From the poetic Cua Dai, Cu Lao Cham can be seen hidden in the distance with a fanciful shimmering beauty.
During their stay on the island, visitors not only enjoy the cultural value of archaeological relics related to the residence of ancient residents 3,000 years ago, but also know the exchange and trading process, especially the development of the system of folding stone of ancient Cham residents to exploit water sources.
At Cu Lao Cham, there are many historical and cultural relics including Hai Tang pagoda, village well, Ong mausoleum, Ba temple, bird nest temple as well as a series of interesting natural landscapes, such as Ba cave, caves, rice bags, love streams, dream streams, etc.
Thanks to the favorable natural conditions, the flora and fauna on the island are quite rich and diverse. Cu Lao Cham forest has many kinds of valuable forest products such as wood, palm tree, chestnut, sour, rattan, rattan, mulberry, simian; precious and rare medicinal herbs such as votive powder, blood paint, purple guava.
Surrounding island clusters from a depth of 1-20 m, blue water, there are also many types of seafood such as lobster, snail, sea cucumber, pearl, tortoise, rock crab, etc. Especially, there are many beautiful natural beaches on the island, attracting domestic and foreign tourists. In the near future, Cu Lao Cham will be invested in building a stature eco-tourism area, attracting tourists to rest and relax.
