Best cafe in Penang — Top 9 unique, cool, best cafe in Georgetown Penang & best coffee shop in Penang
When most people think of Malaysia, the first place that comes to mind is Kuala Lumpur, which is also true to the spirit of the dynamic era we live in today, but I am the type of person who prefers quieter places. Every time I want to visit a country, I look for a location that is not too noisy, not too remote, and where everything is gentle enough to leave my imprint in my youth. And here, Penang appears in my eyes as a city that still retains the beauty of tradition while blending with a little modern from the West, and these two points make me believe Penang is the most unique in Malaysia. When I visit Penang, I will go straight to the old town of George Town (Georgetown). Why? Because this is a paradise of unique, cool, strange cafes, and hidden in each of those unique cafes is a story to tell, not just strange for the sake of being strange. So, are you looking for the best cafe in Penang or the top cafe in Penang? Check out our best coffee in Penang blog for a list of the good cafes in Penang.
Anyone who has visited Penang knows that the Old Town of Georgetown is the “portrait” that best captures the uniqueness of this pearl island. And because the cafes I’ve listed here are mostly in George Town, you should plan on spending an entire day exploring the area.
Ome by Spacebar Coffee
With a small but very cozy space, Ome by Spacebar Coffee is always loved because of the lovely staffs, and fragrant coffee cups are made from hot and aromatic coffee beans.
The desserts served here also are equally unique because the owner is a gourmet, you don’t forget to try Divine butter cake or Olive and zucchini cake due to the owner is a woman who makes it herself.
Ome, in particular, occasionally hosts a “Coffee Party” – an event where coffee lovers gather to share everything and participate in activities such as board games and learning how to make coffee… Oh my God, don’t be afraid to go to Ome for these fascinating things.

The Alley, 5 Stewart Lane
The coffee shop is also in Georgetown, The Alley – 5 Stewart Lane stands out not because of the beautiful view, but because the style is very different, the coffee at The Alley not only gives you the feeling of drinking delicious coffee, but also listening to stories, each drink is a story of flavor and history that makes the brand
However, there is no lack of views for you to live virtually and demonstrate your talent, because the front view of the shop also appears vintage, and you can arbitrarily create when taking photos of drinks. It’s too bad that when I went to the restaurant, it was dark, so flash photography was out of the question. If you arrive early enough, you can change the image color to a retro color and then add the dots to make it look old and cool.
In addition, to support this quality cafe, let’s spend some money to buy some lovely products of the shop to make your own drink whenever you remember The Alley.

Le Petit Four
Located in Malaysia, but the cafe has a bold French-style, the brand name “Le Petit Four” is widely transmitted due to the extremely rich pastries menu, the pastries here look so beautiful that you don’t have the heart to eat, but once you try it, you’ll be addicted.
The pastries are considered the best here: Macarons Mogador, Classic Italian Tiramisu (Italian Tiramisu), Almond croissant (crispy croissants) and Chiffon Matcha cakes. See the pictures below you will feel craving.
Remember that the cafe sells coffee in addition to pastries, and eating pastries with a hot cup of cappuccino is a delicious combination. Actually, many coffee shops have changed their purpose to become cake shops, so the drinks are no longer as focused as they once were. So, if you enjoy pastries, pay a visit to The Le Petit Four.

Awesome Canteen
The Awesome Canteen, with its space in harmony with nature and airiness, is gentle for a Sunday morning, reading a book or typing a few lines on MAC Book with a refreshing drink. This shop, as the name implies, is similar to a small canteen where groups of friends can sit and chat, take virtual pictures, and do exercises together for the day. On that particular day, going here alone was a little lonely.
While on the list of best coffee shops in Penang you must visit, the Awesome Canteen is quite strong in food, because the food here is not only delicious but also creative in presentation, if you are a gourmet but miss it, then I say “it’s a big regret”.
