Vietnam welcomes 10 million international visitors

In the first seven months of 2024, Vietnam welcomes 10 million international visitors, an increase of 51% over the same period last year. Of which, the number of arrivals from European countries recorded a sharp increase.

According to the General Statistics Office, in July, Vietnam welcomed 1.15 million international arrivals, an increase of 10.9% over the same period last year. In the first seven months of 2024, international arrivals to our country reached nearly 10 million, an increase of 51% over the same period last year and an increase of 1.9% over the same period in 2019 – the year when the Covid-19 pandemic had not yet occurred.

In particular, the tourism industry recorded a strong growth in the number of visitors from Europe, with an increase of 47.3%, other markets also had high growth such as Asia with 57.1% (mainly due to the increase in Chinese visitors), Australia 27.3% and America increased by 9.7%…

Korea and China are still the two largest international tourist markets of Vietnam tourism, although the number of visitors in July decreased compared to June (respectively 310,000 and 249,200 visitors), but in the first seven months of this year, Chinese visitors still increased by 190%, Korean visitors increased by 37.2% compared to the same period last year.

That is thanks to the effect of favorable visa policies, the efforts of management agencies and tourism businesses, and localities in promoting and promoting tourism, which has attracted a high number of European visitors to Vietnam compared to the same period last year, even in the low season.

As a result, tourism revenue in the first seven months of 2024 is estimated at 35.2 trillion VND, up 31.8% over the same period last year.
