Itinerary

Day 1: Doi Suthep Temple and Hmong Village

• Pickup from your hotel in Chiang Mai 13:30
• Drive 45 minutes up the mountain.
• Visit to a White Hmong hill tribe village.
• Visit Doi Suthep temple and city view point
• Return to your hotel in Chiang Mai about 17:00

Visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep o­ne of the North’s most sacred temples. On this Chiang Mai tour you will climb a staircase of 306 steps leads to Doi Suthep Temple at the end of the winding road up the mountain. This is definitely the best way to approach the temple but there is also a funicular railway if you are less steady on your feet. As well as seeing this magnificent temple the trip would be worth it just for the stunning views across Chiang Mai alone. From the cool view point at the front of the temple you can see

Experience a night of traditional Northern Thai food and traditional Thai dance at Chiang Mai’s premiere Kantoke venue (Khum Kantoke). Get to eat real Northern Thai food at kantoke tables while being entertained by traditional hill tribe dancers. Sample such northern delights as Northern Thai pork curry, Thai fried chicken, fried cabbage, Thai sticky rice and fried bananas to name but a few. This is an excellent way to sample Northern Thai food while being entertained by traditional Thai dance

Day 2: Karen Long Neck, Chiang Rai and The Golden Triangle

• Pick up from hotel in Chiang Mai 07:30
• Visit Maekhajan hot springs
• Visit Wat Rong Khun
• Visit Golden Triangle
• Boat trip on Mekong & cross to Laos (Option)
• Have lunch
• Visit border market at Mae Sai
• Visit Karen Long Neck village
• Visit Akha and Yao hill tribal groups
• Back to hotel about 21:00

We will visit Chiang Rai Province and The Golden Triangle, meeting point of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar. After pick up at your Chiang Mai hotel, your first stop will be Maekhajan hot springs a good spot to take a morning cup of coffee before heading up towards the stunning Wat Rong Khun often named ‘The White Temple’ due do its dazzling white colour inlaid with mirrored glass. A short drive from Chiang Saen will bring us to the Golden Triangle where you will have the option of a boat trip across the Mekong River to the Laos island of Don Sao. The tour will proceed to Mae Sai the Thai border town with Myanmar where we can spend some time at the bustling border market. You will also get a glimpse of Myanmar itself with it only being situated a mere ten meters away across the river. On the return leg to Chiang Mai we will stop to see The Karen Long Neck hill tribe as well as Akha and Yao tribal groups.

Day 3: Elephant Safari

• Pickup from your hotel in Chiang Mai 08:30
• Drive to Mae Tang area
• See elephant show
• Elephant Riding
• Ox-Carting
• Lunch
• Bamboo rafting
• Orchid and butterfly farm
• Return to your hotel in Chiang Mai 16:30

On the final day we will drive out to the Mae Tang area north of Chiang Mai to get real close to the Asian elephants. Watch the elephants demonstrate their skills at the elphant show before embarking on an elephant ride. After Lunch you will try your hand at ox carting before boarding the bamboo rafts for a leisurly trip down the Mae Tang River. This is an ideal tour for the family and those who do not want to trek up hill and mountain. On the return back to Chiang Mai we will drop in at a Thai Orchid and butterfly farm.

Note: You will be required to show your original passport if you want to take the boat ride on the Mekong to the Laos side. Please bring this with you if you want to take this option.
