Northern Vietnam province among world’s 71 most beautiful places
U.K.-based magazine Condé Nast Traveller has included Hoa Binh Province in northern Vietnam on its list of the world’s 71 most beautiful places, praising its tranquil landscapes and rich cultural diversity.
“Hoa Binh Province in the north of the country is home to ethnic minorities as well as endless rice fields,” the magazine wrote.
The list was curated by travel editors based on their experiences, spotlighting destinations renowned for their ancient history, warm hospitality, and delectable cuisine.
Hoa Binh serves as the gateway to Vietnam’s northwest region, captivating visitors with its breathtaking landscapes and vibrant cultural heritage.
In Mai Chau District, Ban Lac is known for its lush rice fields surrounded by verdant mountains. From September to late October, the rice fields turn a golden hue, creating an ideal setting for tourists.
Ban Lac is also famous for its hundreds of traditional stilt houses, some nearly 700 years old, nestled in the white mist of the green hills.
Visitors can savor a variety of mountain specialties, including bamboo rice, grilled chicken, grilled fish, sticky rice, and wild vegetables, which are commonly served at local eateries.
Other destinations featured on the list include Bali Island in Indonesia, Zhangye National Geopark in China, Bayon Temple in Cambodia, Jodhpur City in India, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.
